Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
“Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?”
Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!“
Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…
You feel called to get the One, True message out
And you are good at telling the bible’s story… but maybe not so good at telling your own
Whether funding an upcoming outreach, seeking workers to come alongside you or just simply updating your supporters on what God has done and the challenges still ahead
Let us work with you to get HIS story out
SUGGESTIONS FOR SUCCESSFULLY GETTING YOUR MESSAGE ACROSS
-
Who Are You Be able to explain what your ministry and its goal are in a single, succinct paragraph.
-
Why You Be able to explain why someone should come alongside and join you. Your potential supporters are comparing you to other ministries, give them some reasons to consider you.
-
Explain Yourself Interviews are conversations, don’t give yes or no answers.
-
Have a Story Come prepared to explain how your ministry works in the real-world. Nothing makes you more approachable than examples of how God is using you in furthering His kingdom.
-
Relax Interviews are not life-threatening. No one, I repeat, NO ONE has died during an interview. Enthusiasm is the single best characteristic to bring to an interview. If you can’t get excited about your ministry, no one else will either. Let your personality out a bit – feel free to be excited.
-
Know Your Target Audience People that listen to you are after solid, reliable and practical information that they can use to make a decision. Talking strategy is fine – but be ready to roll-up your sleeves and explain how they can help you, feel like they want to be a partner in your ministry.
-
Talk to Your Audience In fact, just speak English. You don’t need to dumb it down, but if you can’t explain it without using a sentence containing more than two acronyms, then practice explaining it until you can.
-
Focus on Your Message I have a goal: create an engaging piece filled with interesting information. You need a goal, too. And it ISN’T “support me.” No one makes a decision solely upon an interview. Instead your interview goal needs to be “make my ministry so interesting and compelling that people want to contact me to learn more.”
Give me an interesting and compelling story, filled with intriguing facts presented by someone that is enthusiastic and I guarantee you that people will want to learn more

“IF ANYONE HAS MATERIAL POSSESSIONS AND SEES HIS BROTHER IN NEED BUT HAS NO PITY ON HIM, HOW CAN THE LOVE OF GOD BE IN HIM? DEAR CHILDREN, LET US NOT LOVE WITH WORDS OR TONGUE BUT WITH ACTIONS AND IN TRUTH.”
1 JOHN 3:17-18
is a unique nonprofit organization. Why are we unique? What makes us different?
There are many other organizations and individuals who use the same tools and services as we do, but at HANDS of FAVOR, our intention goes far beyond giving a hair cut or a hair style to the under served and the disadvantaged people in our communities.
Our purpose is to use these services to build relationships which in turn allow us to hear the stories of those we serve, and from there we can utilize the resources of our Friends and Partners to connect the people with the necessary services that will help them get their lives back on track to become responsible, productive members of their respective communities with a desire to pay it forward. Thus, everyone benefits perpetually.
